I teach English to Speakers of Other Languages at Portland Community College, Portland State University, SOAR Immigration Legal Services, and, occasionally, other programs.
I am interested in Open Educational Resources and online materials for language learning. For example, I have recently been working with a great team at PCC and Open Oregon on a Beginning English Digital Workbook that combines instructional video with H5P exercises in a PressBooks site.
As a person, I’m generally interested in bicycling, cooking with/for my wife, traveling, training and caring for my dog, practicing yoga, playing board and card games, learning about computer technology to generally improve life and learning, and enjoying any opportunity to create and wear a costume.
